Let us look deeply into your eyes with our new 3D OCT.

What is OCT?

It’s our brand new piece of kit which allows us not only to photograph the retina at the back of your eye. But also allows us to carry out a 3D deep layer scan of your retina too. OCT stands for optical coherence tomography. It uses low energy red light to scan the sensitive tissues deep in the retina in a similar way to ultrasound.

Deep layer scanning enables us to view areas that are unseen with normal photography. This has the advantage that it may highlight early signs of eye problems. Early detection of eye conditions can help you maintain healthy eyes with optimum vision.

Problems related to diabetes, glaucoma and macula degeneration always have a better outcome the earlier they are detected.

This additional examination can be carried out with your routine sight test for a small additional fee of £30
